Youth girls led by Adania strike first team gold at world meet

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s back-up bowlers blazed the lanes to strike the country’s first girls’ team gold medal at the World Youth Championships, in Incheon, South Korea.

The quartet of Adania Mohd Redzwan, Nur Hazirah Ramli, Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee, and Anis Hannani Romzi defeated Singapore in the stepladder finals with a score of 221-211 and 236-190 at the Fiesta Bowling Centre on Thursday.

Earlier, Malaysia had beaten Colombia 2-1 (201-196, 201-231, 202-178) while Singapore had knocked out Norway 2-0 (182-169, 201-189) in the first round of the knockout stage.
