KUALA LUMPUR: Uzma Bhd ’s 51% owned subsidiary Jannatul Firdaus International Sdn Bhd has entered into an expression of interest (EOI) with Arafura Energies Ltd and Australian Niugini Service (ANS) for the sale and purchase of hydrocarbon fuel and products.
Arafura Energies is a provider of refined petroleum products in Papua New Guinea while ANS specialises in construction and mining among others to support businesses in Papua New Guinea and Australasia.
“Uzma is extremely pleased to have secured this partnership with Arafura and ANS and with it marks our entry into a new and exciting market of Papua New Guinea. We are very proud to be able to play a significant role in contributing to the country’s energy security and sustainability,” group CEO Datuk Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed said in a statement.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Uzma said the EOI will be for a year from July 12, 2024 until July 11, 2025.
