India’s External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to visit Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR: India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr S. Jaishankar (pic) will undertake an official visit to Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines from March 23 to March 27, following invitations from his counterparts in these nations.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs in a statement said the official visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering regional cooperation in South-East Asia.

According to the news reports on Indian media, the visit presents an invaluable opportunity for dialogue on regional issues of mutual concern, reflecting India’s proactive approach to regional diplomacy, while highlighting the diplomatic engagement follows a series of high-level interactions between the republic and Malaysia.

India’s ties with Malaysia are rooted in historical interactions and have flourished over the years into a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) between India and Malaysia, signed in 2010, stands as a cornerstone of economic engagement, enhancing trade and investment flows between the two countries. – Bernama
