KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI pulled back from the day’s high but settled with marginal gains on Thursday.
The 30-stock index gained 1.22 points, or 0.08% to 1,610.17. The index hit an intraday high of 1,616.84 and a low of 1,609.13.
Advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones by 798 to 447, while 453 counters remained unchanged. Volume stood at 5.9 billion units worth RM4.35bil.
Stock market data showed foreign investors were net sellers at RM83mil on Wednesday. Local institutions and retailers were net buyers at RM54mil and RM29mil respectively.
Among the gainers on Bursa Malaysia, KESM surged 64 sen to RM7.16, Dayang added 45 sen to RM3.09, Ideal Capital rose 29 sen to RM3.99 and ViTrox gained 26 sen to RM4.76.
Nestle tumbled RM1.20 to RM123.30, Dutch Lady fell slid 56 sen to RM37.40, United Plantations fell 36 sen to RM24.14 and Heineken lost
34 sen to RM23.36.
Elsewhere in the region, Japan’s Nikkei 225 lost 0.4%, China’s CSI 300 Index closed down 0.51%, South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.98% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng closed up 0.97%.
