PETALING JAYA: Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd has accepted a letter of award from WCT Holdings Bhd in respect of main building works for a two-phase residential development project in Johor Baru, Johor, worth RM252.26mil.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Fajarbaru said the project comprises two blocks of serviced apartments spread across eight towers, totalling 2,048 residential units and 69 commercial units.
“The contract will commence on May 6, 2024 and is scheduled to be completed on May 5, 2027,” it said.
Fajarbaru said Phase 2 of the same project is subject to confirmation of award by WCT, adding that it expects a decision within the next 12 months.
“We are pleased to announce that Fajarbaru has secured another major contract from WCT, one of Malaysia’s leading construction and development groups. This job is one of Fajarbaru’s biggest contract wins year-to-date and brings our order book of ongoing projects to over a billion ringgit.
“Securing this job reaffirms our position as a trusted construction partner for major real estate developers such as WCT. We thank WCT for their trust in our capabilities and will work closely with them to ensure the success of this project,” group executive chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy said in a statement.
Following today’s announcement, Fajarbaru’s construction order book stands at RM1.2bil.
Fajarbaru is currently tendering for construction projects with an approximate value of RM5bil across private and government sectors.
