Bursa Malaysia higher at mid-morning, led by tech, property stocks

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia stayed higher at midmorning with technology and property counters soaring, riding on the sectors’ bullish developments.

Apple’s push into artificial intelligence sent the Nasdaq to close at record highs on Tuesday, benefiting technology counters globally, while rising data centre demand proved to be a boon for property and construction players.

At 11.05 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) climbed 3.74 points to 1,615.23 from Tuesday’s close of 1,611.49.

The FBM KLCI opened 5.14 points higher at 1,616.63.

Gainers surpassed decliners 567 to 513, while 451 counters remained unchanged, 870 untraded, and nine others suspended.

Turnover totalled 3.48 billion units worth RM1.97 billion.

Among the heavyweights, TM climbed 28 sen gains to RM6.87, CIMB rose four sen to RM6.93, IHH was flat at RM6.25, Public Bank increased one sen to RM4.09, and KLK was 32 firmer at RM20.90.

Information technology and property construction company Harvest Miracle led active counters despite being unchanged at 10.5 sen.

Among the active counters, DNeX gained four sen to 51.5 sen, SNS Network jumped 15 sen to 90.5 sen, while JCY was 1.5 sen higher at 81 sen. – Bernama
